Back to beige: Rimmel’s Notting Hill nude.

I haven’t really worn a brown lipstick since the 90s – no word of a lie. I think those of us who were teens in the 90s will never forget the great ‘coffee shimmer’ stampede. I then flitted between gloss and lipsticks in my uni years, but mostly staying firmly put in the red-ish camp. This current trend however, is colouring me more and more intrigued.

I thought I would start in my comfort zone brand, Rimmel, and recently bought ‘Notting Hill Nude‘ from their Moisture Renew range.

As you can see from the picture, it’s a lovely nude-beige shade, with a hint of the signature moisture renew shine that keeps my lips soft.

Rimmel themselves say that moisture renew helps ‘lips feel up to 70% more hydrated and up to 60% smoother! SPF 20, Vitamins A, C and E for protected lips’

As it’s reasonably sheer, I tend to start by blotting out some of the shine and layering up.

Rimmel lipsticks are perfect for layer building, as they’re fairly pigmented and very good quality. (I also like to layer 107 as it gets super vampy and looks brill).

I tend to wear this during the day, as it’s flattering enough for day to day stuff, but not too OTT.

I think this might be the start of a beautiful lippy friendship, I’m really digging the beige, it’s subtle and perfect for this not so girly girl.

Aussie gals can pick up Notting Hill Nude or the rest of the Moisture Renew line from Priceline.

Any beige recommendations I should try next?
