Inspired by a few tweets relating to this conversation…

Firstly, I should probably say, if you’re reading this and you still haven’t figured out your dream job or career goal yet, that’s okay. Whether you’re 13 or 33, you have to keep pushing until you find something that makes you the happiest you can be.

We spend most of our lives at work, so why make it something that makes us miserable. Granted, we have to pay bills, and be adults, but there is a dream out there for everyone, and it’s definitely within your reach.

The Dream

I have always wanted to write a children’s book.

I’m brimming with ideas, but currently dwelling on the age range at the moment, and whether to focus on  young adult or ‘almost-tween’ before I go forth with my first big writing ‘venture’ – I grew up on Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl, as did my big sisters, and I’d love to write a book that surpasses the generations.

For me, there would be no greater joy than creating something as enchanting as Hogwarts, as scary as The Twits or as fun as the folk in the Faraway Tree.

I know my limitations, and I just need to get even more motivated, and I think with all my current visa paperwork, traveling around and wedding planning, I will make sure I find a few moments to just sit and write for me.

A wise friend of mine once told me:

 ‘there is a bestselling novel inside us all’

I think I am totally in love with that advice. We all just need to find that one voice.
